A Memorable Year

As we reflect on the events held at Pullman Town Square throughout 2023, we are unsurprised that the time seemed to fly by!  From the unveiling of the Veteran’s Memorial on Memorial Day to the beautiful community decorated Christmas trees in December, it has been a memorable year.

A summer concert series featured a wide variety of musical talents. Concert goers included multi-generational groups of toe tapping, rug cutting people, and even dancing horses! Who would have guessed 20 years ago that we could sit in downtown Pullman and listen to bands of this caliber?

The weekly Farmer’s Market was another dream come true for many residents and vacationers alike. It was great for hard working vendors to be able to sell locally and everyone enjoyed the fresh products brought to market.

The Pavilion and Gazebo have been ideal places to gather whether we we’re serving a community picnic for 300 or as an intimate birthday party setting. So many events have taken place here in 2023, but one of the most special was inviting all Pullman Elementary School students to the Town Square to experience a logging camp reenactment. We all learned so much about our town’s roots and the truth of the statement that “Michigan timber built America.”

The features of the Town Square, the children’s play area, the benches, and both Gazebo and Pavilion have proven ideal for building community pride and togetherness. We are looking forward to 2024 by continuing existing programs and adding to them.

How do we accomplish these goals? Only with the help and support of our volunteers and financial donors. Without you there is no Beautify Pullman.
